Brochure for Foreign Visitors25 January 2015 - Tradition/CultureThe travel review website "TripAdvisor," headquartered in Tokyo, and Kyoto City have recently produced a brochure titled "Kyoto no Torisetsu," or the insiders' guide to Kyoto, which introduces bits of knowledge about Kyoto for foreign visitors.
Bits of knowledge are explained in English in the brochure. It includes points such as the custom of not eating cucumbers in July, that more than 1,139 companies that have been in business for more than 100 years, the city has the highest annual coffee consumption per household nationwide, and more. The brochure was designed in the "Torisetsu," meaning an instruction manual, style, highlighting the numerical data.
