Promotion videos taken from the sky by an unmanned aerial vehicle, or a drone, have been released on the castle's website showing scenes of Nijo Castle, in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto. They convey the charm of the World Heritage site which changes in appearance from season to season.

There are five videos, with four where footage has been divided by the season and one comprehensive version that has explanations of the buildings and gardens. The scenes were filmed from last June to this April, and Japanese explanatory subtitles were added to the videos.

Various images can be enjoyed through the videos, such as views from 40 meters above the ground, which is believed to be equivalent to the height of the burnt-down Nijo Castle tower, and scenes where the approximately 300 cherry trees of 50 varieties bloom in spring within the castle precincts. Videos with English subtitles will be released in the near future.
