A baby mandrill was born at Kyoto City Zoo in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, on August 25. Its adorable appearance is melting visitors' hearts.

It is the fifth child of father "Benkei" and mother "One," following their male child "Yoshitsune," born last July. The birth was confirmed that morning. The baby is approximately 30 centimeters long, and the gender is unknown. In the monkey house, One carefully held the baby in her arms, and it could be seen peeking out from time to time.

The zoo will accept name suggestions for the baby in the near future, saying, "As its relationship with its siblings will be revealed in a short time, we hope people will visit and see how they grow from day to day."
