Prior to its grand opening on April 1, Marufukuro, a hotel which renovated and expanded on the former headquarters buildings where Nintendo was founded in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, held a preview on March 29. It has a special library "dNa" in which a model of the Nintendo Entertainment System made of Kent paper and digital art of Hanafuda, or Japanese playing cards, are displayed.

The hotel consists of three buildings: two three-story buildings and one new four-story building. Its total floor area is about 1,700 square meters. Plan Do See Inc., a hotel management company based in Tokyo, leased the property from the asset management company of Nintendo's founding family, and developed it into the hotel. Architect Tadao Ando supervised the design, focusing mainly on the new building.
