The final screening result for "Kyoto Miss Kimono 2013," a contest which promotes the charms of kimono, was announced in the Kyoto Concert Hall, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, on March 20. The four winners were chosen for both intelligence and beauty from the twenty participants who passed the preliminary audition.
The winners are: Yuri Shiba of Osaka City, a hospital receptionist, Yuka Kitawaki of Otsu City, a junior at Kyoto Notre Dame University, Yuriko Fujii of Otsu City, a junior at Doshisha University, and Arisa Nose of Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, a junior at Kyoto University of Education.
There were 221 applicants for the competition held by an organizing committee sponsored by KOMS, the Kyoto textile wholesale trade association, and other organizations. Ms. Shiba stated, "I would like to make a wholehearted appeal for the culture of Kyoto."(translated by Galileo, Inc.)
