Introduction to Events on "Traditional Industry Day"
Kyoto City Prepares Guidebook20 February 2014 - Sightseeing/EventsKyoto City has recently prepared a guidebook to introduce various events to be held in the city before and after Vernal Equinox Day, which is designated as "Traditional Industry Day."
The guidebook reports events to take place in the Okazaki, Nishijin and Muromachi areas, including "Kyo-mono Festival," or exhibition and sale of traditional products of Kyoto, such as artifacts, Japanese confectionery, sake, and others, a photo session in kimono that is tried on, and a classical concert in kimono.
Visitors in kimono can use attached free tickets for free transportation on city buses and city subways, and for free admission to temples, shrines, and museums. The guidebook is of A-4 size with 17 pages. Ninety thousand copies are being distributed at the city hall and other places. It is also available on the website of Traditional Industry Day.
