Three Hotels in Otsu City Compete in Hot Pot Dishes
Cooperate to Promote Local Brands3 November 2014 - GourmetOtsu Prince Hotel, Biwako Hotel and Royal Oak Hotel Spa & Gardens in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture will launch their first joint project, "Eating Resort: 'Hote-nabe'" from December 1. Each of the three hotels will offer one-pot dishes consisting of locally grown ingredients at the same price. The three hotels will work together to attract guests.
For the 2,500 yen lunch set menu, Omi beef sukiyaki will be served at Otsu Prince Hotel, a hot-pot-dish called "chankonabe gozen" at Biwako Hotel and cheese fondue at Royal Oak. For the 6,000 yen dinner set, a hot-pot dish of Omi beef, foie gras and truffles will be provided at Otsu Prince Hotel, a seafood pot of anglerfish's liver and miso in flying fish soup broth at Biwako Hotel, and oil fondue at Royal Oak Hotel.
Guests that dine on one of the target set menus at each hotel will receive a cake coupon. Guests that have all six set menus will be rewarded with a hotel voucher for an overnight stay for a couple at any one of the three hotels.
Masao Yutani, the general manager of Otsu Prince Hotel, said, "One hotel has limitations in promoting the attractions of Shiga Prefecture. The three hotels would like to cooperate to enhance the capability for publicizing and building up local brands."
