A photograph exhibition titled "Traces of a Lost Ceremony" featuring works by Adam Marelli, an American photographer who captures the heart of craftsmen in Kyoto, is being held at Leica Gallery Kyoto in Hanamikoji-dori Shijosagaru, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto.

A previous photographic motif of Marelli's was rowboat craftsmen in Italy. He came to Japan few years ago and then visited various workshops in Kyoto and Shiga Prefectures.

There are a total of 15 black-and-white photos exhibited at the venue, vividly depicting craftsmen in fields such as Kyoto woodworking joinery, bamboo work, Uji Tea manufacturing and others. The beauty of Japanese handicraft traditions are shown through a foreigner's eyes. The exhibition continues until January 4. There is no admission fee.
