"Maizuru Akarenga Stained Glass," or window illumination of a redbrick warehouse, an Important Cultural Property, to resemble stained-glass windows, started on December 13, at Akarenga Building No. 5 in Maizuru Brick Park, Kitasui, Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture.

The No. 5 building was constructed in 1918 as a torpedo storehouse for the former Japanese navy. Today, it is utilized as a multipurpose hall. In the lighting test conducted on the evening of December 12, red, green and blue light diffused from the warehouse windows along Route 27, creating a gorgeous Christmas ambience all around.

It will be illuminated from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., until December 25. The redbrick warehouses will also be lit up
