Trilingual Tourist Guide for Northern Lake Biwa in Shiga
Pamphlet for Foreigners Published2 January 2015 - Sightseeing/EventsThe council for tourism promotion of Lake Biwa and the Omi road sightseeing area in Shiga Prefecture has published "Hikone Maibara Nagahama Guide Book," a trilingual tourist information pamphlet for foreigners.
The council was set up in August 2014 by the three cities and their tourist associations. To increase the attraction of their tourist spots among foreigners, they planned a pamphlet including English, Korean and traditional Chinese.
The pamphlet introduces Hikone Castle and Yume-Kyobashi Castle Road in Hikone City, "Samegai-juku" and "Kashiwabara-juku," the sixty-first and sixtieth stations respectively of the Nakasendo road, in Maibara City, "Kurokabe Square" and Chikubushima Island in Nagahama City, as well as souvenir shops and restaurants.
Thirty thousand copies of the 12-page, B-5 sized pamphlet were printed. It is available for free at tourist information centers and accommodations in the three cities.
