Take Commemorative Photos with Tawawa-chan
Kyoto Tower18 January 2016 - Local topicsA wall decoration in the Kyoto Tower's observation deck 100 meters above the ground in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, has been completed with various designs including "Tawawa-chan," or the tower's mascot and Kyoto's cityscape.
The decorative mural is 2.2 meters high and 4.4 meters wide. It charmingly depicts Tawawa-chan in the woods peeking out from between the trees, as well as two "Yatagarasu" or crows that are considered divine servants, along with the Kyoto Tower, shrines and temples in the background.
This is the second part of the 50th anniversary project of the tower's inauguration, which was marked in late 2014, following the opening of "Tawawa-jinja" Shrine. Families are enjoying taking commemorative photos in front of the wall decoration.
