Kizakura Releases Craft Beer
Full-Scale Entry into Beer Market7 June 2017 - Business/Company//KyotoKizakura Co., Ltd, a major Japanese sake brewer based in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, released its craft beers, "LUCKY CAT" and "LUCKY DOG" on May 26. They are the first new products developed by the company's Fushimigura brewery, which was established last year in Fushimi Ward, marking the company's full-scale entry into the craft beer market that is booming in Japan.
The beers are brewed with malt, hops, and brewer's rice. Yeast is left in them for aroma and flavor enjoyment. Yuzu citrus and Japanese pepper are added to "LUCKY CAT" giving it a light taste. The flavors of malted barley and citrus in "LUCKY DOG" make it a good accompaniment to oily foods.
Both beers cost 275 yen plus tax for a 350-milliliter can. From June 6, 330-milliliter bottles will also be sold for 300 yen plus tax.
