Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto, in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, and Century Royal Hotel, in Sapporo City, Hokkaido, started a joint project under the theme "Revolving Restaurants" on September 1. Cuisine combining ingredients local to each hotel are offered during the first event.

Many revolving observatories and restaurants were built all over Japan from the 1950s on, but now only four hotels with revolving restaurants, including both these hotels, remain. Thus, they devised this project to promote the attractions of revolving restaurants.

Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto offers an appetizer evoking a revolving restaurant, a cocotte combining Hokkaido-harvested red snow crab, and "Kujo Negi," or leek from Kujo, and other dishes. The lunch is 5,346 yen and the dinner is 11,880 yen, both of which include a total of six dishes. The menu will be available until the end of October.

The joint project will continue until next March. Upcoming plans include soliciting "Essays of Memories" related to revolving restaurants and various events, such as chefs from both hotels visiting the other's hotel restaurant.
